MIT Biology, USA

Amy E. Keating is the Jay A. Stein Professor of Biology and Biological Engineering at MIT, Head of the Department of Biology, and a member of the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research. She is a former President of The Protein Society. Dr. Keating joined the MIT faculty in 2002. As an undergraduate, she studied physics at Harvard before obtaining her Ph.D. in organic chemistry from UCLA in 1998. Her research uses computational and experimental methods to understand how proteins recognize one another and applies that knowledge to design molecules with desired interaction properties. She is particularly interested in the interaction specificity of evolutionarily conserved domains.
